On to the 4th of July Celebrations. The Machs graciously invited us over for the 4th. Things were kind of iffy since the weather wasn't looking too great. Then it cleared off enough that they felt safe saying the party was on. As soon as everyone showed up, the weather got a little crazy.

Like the true midwesterners we are, we all stood around looking at the weather, instead of taking cover. That large horizontal cloud was rotating, then dissipated.

The kids played, oblivious to it all.

We experienced an immediate 15-20 degree drop in temperature when the front moved through.

We had a great spread of food and lots of beverages, then we took all the kiddos out to the front yard and did poppers and a few small fireworks.

Shock and awe

So exciting! Pictured are some Machs, some Schierberls, some Petersons, some Burgesses and some Stanifers.

Also went the front went through, all the little tumble weeds went crazy and piled up like a tumbleweed blizzard in front of doors. Here's an example:

A great time was had by all... Thanks Tim, Bobbie, Emma and Tyson for a fun time.
It was too stormy for actual fireworks, so we went home and played dress up with Boomer. here he is as a firefighter princess. Don't call PETA.

LOVE the tumbleweed picture! We don't see many of those around here, if you can imagine that! :)
