Of course you'd all like to see pics of my getaway, right? Come see the fun!
I got up at dark thirty and even got to leave the minivan in the garage and take Cory's "pretty car" -- I'm not allowed to call it that in real life, btw. I enjoyed the quiet, some caffeine and the chance to see this...

It was so great to see Tanya. (My glasses are looking all askew here. Maybe I should get those bad boys adjusted!)

There's a rumor circulating on the internet that she's not even pregnant, but I can assure you she is. You just can't tell it from pictures, apparently.

We met at the Ford Center for the conference. There were 16,000 women there. WHOAH -- that's a lot of Estrogen! And there's pretty much nothing cooler to hear than 16,000 women singing together. Our tickets were up high, but still great.

(http://www.womenoffaith.com) We heard Luci Swindoll, Patsy Clairmont, Thelma Wells, Marilyn Meberg, Sheila Walsh and Anita Renfroe who sings the Mom Song to the tune of the William Tell Overature. You've probably seen the Youtube clip. Also Sandi Patti and some others. It was a great day.
So after the conference was over, we went and checked into our swanky hotel (thank you Hilton Honors Points!) Which was the Skirvin Hilton near bricktown in OKC. Here are some photos so you can live vicariously through me for a few minutes...

We were starving, so we walked over to Bricktown and had dinner at Abuelos Mexican Food Embassy. YUMMMMM. Again, the point here is it was a QUIET dinner and no one needed help cutting anything. No sippy cups needed retrieving. We sat, relaxed, talked, and ate while our food was.... catch this... still HOT!! We didn't get a picture there. But I'm sure you can imagine it.
Then we walked back to the hotel.... it was almost dark by then...

Hello! They had robes for us to lounge around in. And the beds were really comfortable. Way too many pillows, which is always a good thing.

A mother's work is never done... enough said.

And we watched silly movies on TV, and would have stayed up late gabbing if we weren't so excited about the prospect of a full night's sleep...

The next morning we had a fabulous breakfast at the hotel.

and sadly said goodbye before hitting the road. It was a great trip. We both needed a break. There's just something about a 24 hour break from little hands clinging to you and little noses that need to be wiped that makes coming home to this...
and this...
so much sweeter. And bonus, the house wasn't even trashed:

And that was mommy's getaway, in a nutshell.
